Suehiro have a long history of producing high quality, modestly priced man made 'toishi' (sharpening stones) in Japan.
These are ceramic stones, making them a little harder and more durable than the much softer natural waterstones. We recommend that SUEHIRO stones be soaked for five minutes before use. The stones are comprised of baked aluminium oxide with a small amount of binder to allow dull grit to slough off and expose fresh, sharp grit for quicker sharpening.
This stone has four concave curves for sharpening different size gouges as well a v-groove.
