This is a Rip/Cross/Dovetail Saw. It is designed for three types of cuts: rip, coss and dovetail. To facilitate cutting, each 9th tooth at the front and middle of the blade is a raker tooth intended to clear sawdust from the kerf. The teeth at the handle end of the blade are all crossut to ensure a smooth start to the cut.

This saw is made by the Hishiki Saw factory using traditional techniques which include hand tempering, hand correction of blade warping and hand adjustment of blade thickness. The blade is forged from white steel and tempered to Rc 55. The 24 tpi teeth are carefully hand set.
