A beautiful photographic tribute to historic barns of the West, the icons of rural American history.
From the Author
I recall as a boy five years of age first setting foot in my grandfather's barn in Martin, Tennessee. As it turned out, that was the only time I ever visited the family farm, but my mental picture of that old barn is as crisp and clear today as if it were only yesterday ... so clear, in fact, that it stands out as one of the few indelible images of my boisterous boyhood. I've often mused over that memory and why an initial encounter with a piece of rural architecture should leave such a deep and long-lasting impression. Perhaps you've felt some of the same feelings and harbored some of the same curiosity.
