This is the traditional English drawknife pattern, still forged by Robert Sorby in Sheffield and still used by bodgers, chair-makers, period furniture-makers, and green woodworkers. Pulled toward you with both hands, it removes wood faster than almost any edge tool, with control that grows with practice. Choose the straight blade for flat work and debarking, or the bent blade for reaching into hollows and curves.

Specifications:

  • Options: Straight or Bent blade
  • Pattern: traditional English drawknife, used mainly on the pull stroke
  • Use: shaping, debarking, aggressive stock removal or fine finishing
  • Made in: Sheffield, England by Robert Sorby
