When every cut is across the grain, a dedicated crosscut saw beats a compromise, and the Gyokucho Kataba Razorsaw No. 410 is that saw. The 240 mm blade carries fine crosscut teeth at about 16 TPI that Gyokucho impulse-hardens with a flash of electric current, keeping them sharp far beyond an ordinary saw's life.
It is a kataba, a single-edged saw with no back, so it cuts to any depth, and the 0.6 mm blade is stiff enough for long cuts in 2x stock while the 0.9 mm kerf stays narrow. It cuts on the pull stroke for accuracy right on your knife line, the handle is traditional rattan-wrapped, and when the blade eventually dulls you snap in an S-410 replacement, sold here, rather than losing the saw.
