The Makita KP312 is the world's largest portable planer, built specifically for timber framers and log home builders. It dresses a full 12-1/4-in width up to 1/8 in deep in a single pass, which means one pass per face on most timbers instead of overlapping tracks from a small planer.
The 15 AMP motor turns 12,000 RPM, and a grooved poly V-belt transfers that power to double-edged high speed steel blades for an even cut, job after job. A front roller rides over rough stock, the large ejection chute keeps wet or dry chips from clogging, and the spring-loaded rear stand protects blades and workpiece between passes.
