When Stanley stopped making the 750 series more than 40 years ago, the demand never did. These socket chisels were so revered for quality and value that woodworkers hunted them on the secondhand market for decades, and Stanley finally revived the line under the Sweetheart name. The new 750s are made in Sheffield, England from high-carbon chrome steel (the originals were American-made), precisely machined with clean, consistent bevel edges, 30 degree factory bevels, and reasonably flat backs.

The socket pattern is why the originals survived long enough to become legends: the hornbeam handle is removable when you first get it, seats tighter with every mallet blow, and can always be replaced or refit. We sell the eight-piece set, which covers everything from 1/8 in to 1-1/4 in.
