Hand Tools

Hand tools are where the work really happens. A sharp chisel, a well-balanced slick, a saw that tracks straight—these are the tools that translate a layout line into finished joinery, and they're the ones we put in our own students' hands at our Woolwich campus.

Here you'll find the chisels, slicks, hand saws, drawshaves, and carving knives we use every day, from makers like MHG Messerschmidt, Robert Sorby, Barr, Z-Saw, Mora, and Peavey. Some are built for heavy timber framing work, others for fine woodworking and carving—but every one of them is here because we use it and trust it.
